Almighty God, every good thing comes from you. Fill our hearts with love for you, increase our faith, and by your constant care protect the good you have given us. We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit. Amen |
TODAY IS THE DAY - OUR ANNUAL PARISH PICNIC!
Come and join us for our Annual Parish Picnic today following the 11:00am Mass and continue until 3pm. The Knights of Columbus will provide the BBQ Chicken and drinks and we ask that you bring a side dish/salad or dessert. There will be games for the kids and a great opportunity to mingle with others in our parish family. Come and join us for a wonderful afternoon of great food and wonderful company. Hope to see everyone there!
GRAND PIANO FUND
Many thanks to everyone who purchased keys for our “new” baby grand piano last weekend! Fifty-two (52) keys were purchased, leaving only 36 yet to be named. We will be glad to “double-name” keys, leaving any balance for tuning or other music needs. Please remember to make your $30 (per key) check payable to “St. Patrick Piano Fund”. Please make your selection and leave your checks with the music representative in the vestibule of the church. If you have ‘reserved’ a key or have no particular key preference, you may also leave the check in the parish office. Thank you again for your enthusiastic support!
BIBLE STUDY
If you have been wishing you could take a Bible Study class here at St. Patrick’s, you are in luck. A new series of Bible study classes will be starting up in mid-September. Last year we studied The Gospel of John. This year we will use the same excellent publisher, Catholic Scripture Study, to study The Book of Revelation. The cost for materials is approximately $46.95. You have a choice of joining a group that meets on Monday mornings, or one that meets on Thursday evenings. Please contact Bill Martinusen at 503-266-4926 or Kathy Hostetler at 503-266-3584 for more information

OUR PRAYERS FOR HOLINESS OF LIFE
*For all priests, especially those of our Diocese, that they may provide an example and guidance to all youth, we pray to the Lord.
*For all who support the work of vocation promotion through their prayers, suffering, and good works, we pray to the Lord.
*That the common relationship all baptized Christians share as sons or daughters of God may be a source of support to one another in the daily living of the Gospel, we pray to the Lord.
*That God’s love might inspire all men and women to follow Christ’s footsteps more closely, we pray to the Lord
LIVING THE PASCHAL MYSTERY
Humility isn’t a matter of beating our breast or putting ourselves down. Humility is recognizing that we are gifted, enriched, and nourished by God and then reaching out to others in the same way. If we wish God to raise us up, then we must live our lives raising others up. Each Sunday we are invited to God’s banquet table. We are nourished at the same time that we are called to share the abundance of God’s life by reaching out to others in need. We eat and drink in order to be gracious to others. This is the most profound humility!

First place goes to J.P.
